Gabriela Saucedo Mercer and the Cult of ZAP

Potential Gabreila Saucedo Mercer supporters should be advised that Mercer is a member of the cult of ZAP, or "Zenith Applied Philosophy". ZAP has a front group called the Tax Reduction Integrity Movement (TRIM), but ZAP is an offshoot of Scientology and was founded in 1974. It is a cult some  consider quite dangerous. Mercer's most inspirational mentor, Trevor Loudon, is a charter member. Zenith Applied Philosophy (ZAP) is a Christchurch, New Zealand based organization founded by John Dalhoff (aka John Ultimate). ZAP has a world view "which is a combination of Scientology, Eastern mysticism and the ideas of the American John Birch Society" according to wikipedia, but Center of the Universe does a much better job of describing it, adding that members are "secretive in their dealings, reluctant to engage the media, [and that] Z.A.P remains largely an enigma - even in their own home-town, Christchurch" and that ZAP members are "intensely right-wing, ‘free marketers’ and vehemently anti-union." Like Scientology, "prospective members were encouraged to first ‘take a personality or I.Q test’ and then take a series of expensive ‘self improvement’ courses." The description continues:

"To locals, Zenith Applied Philosophy’ (Z.A.P or Zappers) public persona, was its high profile ‘open all hours’ fast food outlets - that proliferated central Christchurch in its heyday, the late 70’s and 1980’s.

"Luigi’s Pizza, The Dog House in ‘the square’, Farmer John’s Burger Bar in Papanui Road, The American Burger Bar, The Sandwich Factory, Roasters Restaurant etc.

"Z.A.P members were also enthusiastic proselytisers around the streets of Christchurch at this time approaching strangers with open-ended questions like “are you worried about communists taking over New Zealand?” or simply “do you enjoy reading?”

"It was the norm at The Dog House burger-bar to receive a ‘little ditty’ stapled to the burger wrapper with some profound piece of philosophy (speaking from personal experience, if only more of the recipients were sober, this approach may have proved more successful!) Still to be fair, the most intriguing reading material was to be found at these fast-food outlets. Rather than out-dated copies of Women’s Weekly and National Geographic, you were able to skim the photo-copied pages of ‘None Dare Call it Conspiracy’ or some ‘way out’ propaganda leaflet, all whilst you waited for your double-meat & cheese burger to be cooked.

"Also amongst the less conspicuous Z.A.P business interests around Christchurch were massage parlours, an art gallery, health food shop, office cleaning, organic farming, a printing company, burglar alarms and leather manufacturing. Some of these are still about today."

The "little diddies" stapled to burger bags were just "pieces of paper", which is a common theme among Gabriela Saucedo Mercer's most phenomenal statements. When she posted the "People are Animals" statement, she claimed she received it "on a little piece of paper" - didn't know where or from whom it came, but there it was for all to see, and she even posted a picture of it on her Facebook page.

As mentioned above, Trevor Loudon is Mercer's mentor. He has appeared with her on several occasions. Loudon is described by Wikipedia as "a New Zealand political activist who was vice president of the ACT New Zealand Party from 2006 to 2008. He has been involved in politics in Christchurch for many years, most notably the Campaign for a Soviet Free New Zealand a group which published dossiers on people involved in the anti-nuclear movement, declaring them to be communists and "connecting the dots" between them and their supposed Soviet masters." It's just the sort of Glen Beck Chartology that easily confueses the most vulnerable and unsuspecting minds. Loudon makes frequent trips to the United States for lectures speeches and seminars, but it is well known that the FBI and CIA have files on him, and the State Department almost cancelled his last Visa.

Loudon is a prolific red baiter who is capable of drawing a line from Joseph Stalin, Karl Marx or Mao Zedong or Che Guevera or any one of thousands of organizations to any enemy he has. It's sort of the Six Degrees game, but with a red aim and a goal to destroy people lives, people who may only be guilty of having an opposing viewpoint.

So what is Loudon's viewpoint? He stays active with a blog that is oddly enough uncovering communists on a daily basis. It seems for every issue on the planet there is a communist, and thank the gods of the universe that Trevor Loudon is there to point the finger at them. He is of course hard right wing, but his obsession with the overthrow of the United States government is unique among the extremist right. A citizen of New Zealand, he seems to have special access to sensitive information and only he can solve the riddles of socialist communist marxist whatever-you-want-to-call-it rhetoric.

In a recent Facebook post, Mercer said in response to her comments about "middle easterners"
"I want to encourage 'Westerners,' the whole melting pot that makes this great country to educate yourself on Radical Islamist. ACT For America is a great tool where you can learn a lot and then make up your mind."

ACT! For America is a group that criticizes Islam. It is the American arm of Loudons' ACT Party, a sub cult of the cult of ZAP.

Loudon's thick Zealish accent is one of his most powerful weapons, and he uses it to perfection. As is well known through studies, foreign accents can make the speaker appear more intelligent. Loudon skillfully amonishes every statement with a liberal dousing of special accent sauce.
Brian Zinn, Mercer PR and fellow ZAP member

Typical of most cultists, the very first thing he tells his disciples is that EVERYONE is lying - except him. Of course his techniques for mind warping are a little more complex, but essentially that's what happens, and the follower is drawn into his web of deceit.

And somehow, from his apartment in New Zealand, he is able to uncover "communists and socialists" in the United States with apparently secret information that only ha has access to.

So it's good to know that with Gabriela Saucedo Mercer you get the mind, the demographic and the cult, all in one neat package.

    1. Amen! Read more, it gets even more bizarre. I'm not sure the CIA or FBI need to bother. It is only the equally ridiculous extremists here that will support these folks once their beliefs are well known! Spread the word!

  2. Further reading on ZAP revealed that it's founder, John "Ultimate," claims that he absorbed the energy from an earthquake that hit NZ preventing the release of Russian troops from shipping containers. Those troops were there to take over NZ according to Ultimate. If this is a widely accepted event in history for members of ZAP, then labeling every other person on the earth a commie makes perfect sense. In fact, I'm quite sure that Santa Claus and Rudolph are on the list. Wow, are there really people willing to make up an audience for anything these folks have to say? Actually, yes. I was one of them until a dear friend provided me with information I found disturbing about ZAP and ACT. Upon further reading, I uncovered more and more bizarre claims from these groups, including the above. I do not have the need to concure with the spiritual beliefs, etc with people I support in politics. I do however need to know that they are not certifiable. Please learn from my mistakes! Look a more deeply into those you are holding up as heros of America, or even from NZ that come here to save us all....
