No doubt about it, Gabriela Saucedo Mercer is passionate about her country, her ideals, and her campaign. But passion isn't everything. Legislation on the federal level offers some real challenges, and a special skill set is required. Does Mercer have what it takes?
When she announced her candidacy in March 2011, Gabriela Saucedo Mercer got some press from the New Times of Phoenix. In the article, "A spokesman for the candidate tells New Times Saucedo Mercer has an associates degree in social science from Cochise Community College", and that she "worked for several years at a defense electronics firm".
The only problem is that Cochise Community College doesn't offer degrees in Social Science, but it does offer Social Work and Sociology. And it turns out that she worked for a trio of very specialized aerospace defense firms - Cubic Corp, Loral Corp and Teledyne Ryan which made some pretty super secret aircraft.
What she did for these firms has yet to be determined.
Gabriela Saucedo Mercer is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Arizona's 3rd District. She won her Republican primary on August 28, 2012 with 64% of the vote. The general election against incumbent Democrat Raul M. Grijalva and Libertarian Blanca Guerra takes place on November 6, 2012. Candidate Gabriela Saucedo Mercer lacks the skills to hold federal office and this scrapblog is the evidence behind that accusation.
