"Grijalva is unbeatable" - Analyst

"In 2012, the 3rd Congressional District race is hopeless for Republicans, so why should they waste their money?" said political analyst Chris Herstam, of Phoenix. The National Republican Congressional Committee has lost interest in District 3 "because they realize Grijalva is unbeatable," he said.

mark m. (keywest) - I think the RNC discovered she became a US citizen AFTER her kids were born here. Interesting how the Tea Party looked the other way on her "anchor baby" background

" ... Grijalva is better prepared for the race than in 2010, according to the Daily Star. But Grijalva says that Saucedo Mercer, who last year said that Middle Easterners' "only goal in life is to, to cause harm to the United States" and are not welcome in the country, is the reason the NRCC has abandoned the district.
"They put their eggs in Ms. Mercer's basket and she's proven to be more of a liability than an asset," Grijalva said.

" ... let’s not pretend that the Republican establishment has cut her off completely. That recent kerfuffle about the governor cancelling an appearance not with standing, la Cervecera didn’t withdraw her endorsement and Saucedo Mercer is still considered polite company in Republican circles."

I see no reason to ignore her shenanigans, though. Might as well help to squish her political aspirations like a bug. In particular, this one is about Mercer getting caught spouting off against middle easterners in a somewhat racist fashion, and how Jan Brewer, our illustrious and weathered governor, has chosen to give Mercer’s fundraiser in Tucson ... a pass.
